What's Hot in Energy and Mining

Comet Ridge Ltd (COI): The Brisbane based company released an update this morning on its drilling operations at the vertical Albany 1 conventional appraisal well in the Galilee Basin. COI has significant Coal Seam Gas (CSG) projects in key regions of Queensland and northern New South Wales. Gas resources have been certified, by independent professional certifiers, at three projects and gas reserves have recently been certified at the Mahalo project in Queensland. Comet Ridge has gained early entry into well-located exploration areas, allowing shareholders to gain substantial leverage into the upside value potential associated with exploration success.

Flinders Mines Limited (FMS): An exploration and development company focused on the commercialisation of its large, high quality hematite resource - the Pilbara Iron Ore Project (PIOP). FMS is currently undertaking an asset maturation phase centred on defining the resources to a more detailed level of certainty. The work aims to determine the economic viability of the PIOP and develop the project’s optimal path to production.

Maximus Resources Limited (MXR): A mineral exploration and development company concentrated on a small suite of strategic commodities. MXR is a polymetallic explorer, having a portfolio consisting of projects with potential for the discovery of gold, copper, nickel and platinum group element deposits. Just recently, Maximus announced a new nickel discovery on parts of its Spargoville gold  and base metals projects southwest of Kambalda in WA.

Vintage Energy: Actively reviewing oil and gas opportunities and corporate opportunities in the Australian market, Vintage Energy is focused on developing an integrated portfolio of energy assets. It has thus far secured two valuable and highly strategic natural gas exploration opportunities with strong potential for new gas discoveries and more importantly, the potential for early gas production to supply the Eastern Australian energy market.
