Dr Gareth Andrews (UK/AUS) and Dr Richard Stephenson (UK/NZ) are planning to change polar history by being the first to ski 2,600 km across Antarctica from coast to coast inclusive of its giant ice shelves. The journey will be across snow and ice, up glaciers and unexplored mountains. Temperatures will be between -10°C to -60°C with frequent storms with wind speeds over 150km/h that can last for days.
